The Xcell, a combined tabbing and stringing machine, is undoubtedly the top product in our production process. Our use of robotics reduces the handling time for solar cells while our ultramodern Vision Alignment System (VAS) and non-contact induction soldering make the our production process a shining example for the industry.

As of advantages of our process we can name; non-contact spray fluxing process, controlled ribbon handling for two and three bus bars, pyrometric temperature control and precise solar cell and string transport. The reduced breakage rate (a rate of less than 0.5 percent is feasible) and increased output (800 to 900 cells per hour on a back-contact machine compared to 1100 to1200 cells per hour). At the same time, we want to meet our customers demands for thinner solar cells, narrower ribbon alignment, Z-bending and simplified versions requiring less maintenance.


The string to glass layup system from Komax Solar was designed to be compatible with our universal Xcell stringer machines. The seamlessly integrated optical monitoring function for cell and string defects helps to reduce machine downtimes. The system robots are highly flexible, guaranteeing minimal changeover times and maximum flexibility in production as well as smaller overall dimensions and an improved service life. The system can accommodate lateral and longitudinal matrices (column or line arrangements).

The integrated AccuTrack  flipper function fully buffers the strings, allowing the Xcell stringer to produce continuously. The reliability string deposition handling system removes the checking strings fully automatically, returns reworked strings to the process using special handling units, and has a function for loading/unloading during system operation.


Ideally, any problems should be resolved prior to lamination during the assembly of the solar module. Our string tester featuring reliable electro-lumine-scence technology and IV curve measurement performs precisely this task. The machine delivers a high-resolution electro-luminescent image, so the operator can reliably detect any micro-cracks. Using the IV curve measurement, the operator can instantly determine the electrical quality of the strings and record the maximum performance figures. The traceability and maximum efficiency of the solar modules are ensured by the synergy between these two physical tests and pertinent sorting/classification. The machine is available as a stand-alone module or as a full integrated additional module for our matrix product.


The innovative LED technology addresses the major problems of the established XENON technology: much longer life time, longer pulse duration with upt to 200ms, substantially better stability of the light source over time. All this results in better measurement results and significantly reduced operating costs over the systems life time. The technology is perfect for new module concepts like bi-facial or PERC modules. The LED sun simulator is available as long or short edge leading version with the option to add Hipot and Grounding test for framed modules. It can be equiped with standard or extended spectrum following IEC 60904-9 edition 2 or edition 3 standard. The new edition 3 ready sun simulator can additionally be offered with extended spectrum reaching from below 400nm to above 1000nm.


The SolarModule EL-inline-family represents the high resolution electroluminescence inspection systems. The big advantage of this product family is the automatic image processing software. The SolarModule EL-inline is the best choice for the pre-lamination inspection. There are two speed options available (standard/high speed) and to different size options (6×12 and 8 x12).


An absolute cutting-edge technology of our equipment is the Laminator STAR 4000 DD plus  with approx.24 sqm total laminations area. This laminator can laminates 12 standard modules each (1m x 1.6m ) at the same time per cycle. Thus, a capacity of up to 100 MW per year is achieved with minimal space demand.
